What do you believe is the purpose of a college education?
To me, the purpose of a college education is to learn what it takes to be successful while in the career you want to be in. I do not think it is necessary to go to college, but I believe it is very beneficial. If you just want to make money, you can find plenty of jobs that don't require college and pay very well, but I want to do what I love, and to me, college brings that opportunity. It not only gives you an academic education, but it teaches you things you'll need for the rest of your life. Perseverance, doing things on your own, and managing a tough schedule.
What does it mean to be educated? To be educated means that you can solve problems without too much help, but it also means that you are not foolish or prideful enough to try to do everything on your own. Educated people realize that they are never the most talented or skilled person in their area of expertise, and are eager to learn from others.
What experiences have you had with education that led you to this belief?
I am a firm believer in learning from people, I would do anything to spend days with successful businessmen or musicians. When you are too prideful to except others expertise, it is harmful to you in many ways. There have been times that I haven't listened to those in authority to me, and I completely messed up. If I would've listened, things would have went great.
